Seattle, WA — Kin On, a trusted provider of culturally sensitive healthcare and aging services for Asian elders, is proud to announce the opening of its new office in Seattle’s Chinatown-International District (C-ID). Community partners, leaders, and Kin On staff gathered to celebrate this milestone with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, symbolizing Kin On’s continued commitment to serving the C-ID community with expanded resources and programs.
Kin On’s presence in the C-ID is rooted in a deep history, having operated an office at the Eng Suey Association building for nearly 20 years before a fire led to its relocation. Since then, Kin On has continued to provide services from an office at Pacific Rim Center. After four years at the Pacific Rim Center, Kin On has relocated to a street-level office in the International District Village Square II (715 S Lane Street, Seattle, WA 98104).
The C-ID office is the base for Kin On’s Home Care operations, as a significant portion of Kin On’s Home Care clients live in the CID. Kin On’s community-based social services programs, including Family Caregiver Support, also operate out of this location. The new office will allow Kin On to continue serving Home Care and Social Services clients, while also having a separate space for health and wellness activities and workshops. This central location will make it easier for seniors and families to access essential services and participate in wellness programs that support healthy aging.
The office will serve as a hub for community-based programs, including upcoming initiatives to bring awareness and support for pressing health issues such as dementia and Alzheimer’s. These culturally relevant programs include workshops such as the Aging Mastery Program in Chinese, which was developed in response to community needs, and is set to launch in early 2025.
“Many Asian seniors tend to hold stigmatizing beliefs about Alzheimer’s and dementia, which can affect their willingness to seek help and receive early diagnosis and treatment.” said Faye Chien, Director of Community Wellness and Social Services. “As we recognize the health disparities among Asian low-income seniors in the C-ID, we see the need to extend our services and make them more accessible.”

Kin On extends its gratitude to the community partners who attended the ribbon cutting celebration and to all who continue to support its mission. The new C-ID office represents not only a fresh start but a strengthened commitment to uplifting the health and well-being of Asian elders in Seattle.
