2025 Kin On Seniors Day Recap

2025年健安敬老節活動回顧

On Saturday, August 9, 2025, Kin On successfully hosted its 9th annual Seniors Day at Mercer Island Presbyterian Church, bringing together a vibrant community of more than 500 attendees including seniors, staff, volunteers, exhibitors, performers, and friends. The event opened with welcoming remarks from Kin On CEO Ketty Hsieh and featured a special address by Bellevue City Councilmember Vishal Bhargava. The celebration began on a festive note with a stunning lion dance performance by the Mak Fai Kung Fu Dragon & Lion Dance Association, energizing the crowd and setting the tone for the day.

This year’s Seniors Day highlighted the richness of cultural diversity and the importance of lifelong learning. Performers representing Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, and Filipino traditions, along with participants from Kin On’s Healthy Living Program, presented 20 inspiring performances of drumming, dancing, and singing—beautifully demonstrating the spirit of “Lifelong Learning and Growing”.

Attendees also explored community resource booths featuring healthcare providers, legal services, daily living support, and government agencies, gaining access to essential programs and information. A series of educational workshops provided practical insights on topics vital to seniors’ well-being, including Nutrition & Kidney Health, Preventing Elder Financial Fraud, Differences Between PT, OT, and RT, and Tips for Fall Prevention, Medicare 101.

Through its combination of performances, resources, and workshops, the 2025 Seniors Day offered seniors and their family’s opportunities to celebrate culture, expand knowledge, and connect with services that support healthy, safe, and fulfilling lives.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the performers, exhibitors, volunteers, staff, community partners, government agencies, and every attendee who made the 9th annual Kin On Seniors Day a resounding success. Together, we celebrated the wisdom and contributions of our elders while strengthening the bonds of community. We look forward to continuing this tradition and creating more meaningful opportunities for our seniors in the years ahead.

2025年8月9日星期六，健安在墨瑟島長老會教會成功舉辦了第九屆健安敬老節，吸引了五百多位參與者，包括長者、工作人員、志工、參展單位、表演團體及所有社區朋友們。活動由健安執行長 謝則靜致開幕詞，並特別邀請貝爾維尤市議員Vishal Bhargava 擔任嘉賓致詞。由麥顯輝龍獅團帶來的熱鬧舞獅揭開序幕，現場氣氛熱烈非凡。

今年敬老節的特色之一，是透過多元文化和跨世代交流，展現社區的凝聚力與活力。來自華人、韓國、越南及菲律賓社區的表演團體，與健安康健樂頤活動的學員們，共同帶來 20場鼓樂、舞蹈、歌唱等表演，精彩紛呈，充分體現「活到老，學到老」的精神。

活動現場還設有豐富的社區資源攤位，包括健康照護、法律援助、日常生活支援等服務，並有多個政府單位參與，為長者提供生活所需的重要資訊。除了資源攤位外，我們也安排了多場實用專題講座，涵蓋多個與長者福祉息息相關的主題，包括營養與腎臟健康，預防長者金融詐騙，物理治療、職能治療與復健治療的差異及防跌技巧，醫療保險 Medicare 101。

透過表演、展攤與講座三大亮點，2025年健安敬老節不僅是一場 文化與社區的盛會，更是 促進長者健康、豐富生活、擴展資源的重要平台。

我們衷心感謝所有參與與支持本次活動的夥伴與志工、表演團體、參展機構、社區資源單位、政府部門，以及每一位到場的朋友們。正因有您們的付出與支持，才能讓第九屆健安敬老節圓滿成功。我們期待在未來的活動中，繼續攜手慶祝長者的智慧與貢獻，並促進一個更健康、更多元、更加緊密連結的社區。
