2021
Recognized by the Northwest Asian Weekly with the Community Health Excellence Award for our work in fighting COVID-19.

Kin On’s Healthy Living program received the Award of Excellence in Community Service from LeadingAge Washington for our efforts in keeping our elderly community informed and healthy.

2020
Kin On received the “COVID Community Response: Love in Action” group award from International Examiner.

2019
Completed Phase II of the Kin On expansion project and opened up a new Assisted Living and Adult Family Home.

2017
Asian Seniors Concerns Foundation (ASCF) merged with Kin On to offer wellness and continuing education programs to the Eastside community.

2016
Completed phase I of the Kin On expansion project to expand rehab unit and sunroom and convert parking garage into a community center.

Launched Kin On Healthy Living Program, offering wellness and lifelong learning programs to help Asian adults age 50+ stay active and connected.

2014
Initiated a capital expansion project to transform Kin On from a stand-alone nursing facility to an aging-friendly campus that includes a wellness/community center, adult family home, rehab care center, and assisted living apartments.

2012
Kin On received the “Community Recognition Award” at the Seattle Chinese Post’s 30th Anniversary Celebration for our visionary leadership and service to the Seattle community.

2011
Kin On Health Care Center received the highest nursing home rating of five stars from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

2010
Kin On was honored by the NW Asian Weekly Foundation as an Asian American Pioneer in Healthcare.

2009
Kin On established the first hospice program catering to the Asian population, in partnership with Evergreen Hospice Services.

2006
Kin On Health Care Center received a citation-free health inspection by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.

2005
Kin On received the Community Service Award from the Asian Bar Association of Washington.

Kin On Health Care Center received a citation-free health inspection by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.

2003
Kin On received the 2003 GlaxoSmithKline SHARE Award to launch our Chronic Care Management Program, a core part of the Community Care Network of Kin On.

Kin On Health Care Center received a citation-free health inspection by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.

2000
Kin On received the 2000 GlaxoSmithKline SHARE Innovation Award, which provided funding for the establishment of the Community Care Network of Kin On.

1997
The Chinese Nursing Home Society was renamed Kin On Community Health Care to provide support for new off-site programs, such as Kin On Home Care, Alzheimer’s Support Center, and Kin On Alert (emergency response).

1996
The new $11 million, 100-bed Kin On Health Care Center opened its doors on October 1st. The community raised $3.2 million toward a new building.

1995
Kin On received the Hobart Jackson Social Responsibility Award from the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging and from Washington Association of Homes for the Aging.

1992
The Exceptional Performance Award of the Washington Association of Homes for the Aging was given to Kin On Nursing Home.

Kin On was recognized as one of the Top Ten Contributors to the Asian Community by the Seattle Chinese Post and Northwest Asian Weekly.

1991
Washington State Nursing Home Advisory Council awarded the Certificate of Recognition to Kin On. Kin On also received deficiency-free surveys in 1993, 1995, 2003 and 2005.

1990
Kin On Nursing Home reached full capacity. The Chinese Nursing Home Society’s Board of Directors approved plans to build a new 100-bed nursing home.

1987
With the help of the community, over $500,000 was raised to lease a building, which housed the 63-bed nursing facility called Kin On Nursing Home.

1985
The Chinese Nursing Home Society was formed to determine the needs of the Asian community and the actions that would be required.

Exceptional Performance Award in Job Safety (1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1999, 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004) by Washington Association of Homes for the Aging, now Aging Services of Washington.
