Kin On celebrated 40 years of care for Asian elders at its 40th Anniversary Gala on Saturday, September 27 at the Hyatt Regency Lake Washington at Seattle’s Southport. The milestone event brought together more than 400 guests to honor four decades of service and raise critical funds to support Kin On’s mission.
The evening, emceed by Monique Ming Laven of KIRO 7, featured a proclamation for “Kin On Day” by the City of Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell and special remarks from State Representative Sharon Tomiko Santos. Guests enjoyed heartfelt stories from families of residents, captivating cultural performances, and a dynamic live auction, led by professional benefit auctioneer, Christine DeCastro.
Thanks to the generosity of donors, Kin On raised $303,560, and counting, to expand and sustain services that help Asian elders age well at home, at Kin On’s residential facilities, and thrive in community.
Founded in 1985 as the first Chinese nursing home in the Pacific Northwest, Kin On has grown into a comprehensive network of elder care services, including home care, assisted living, short-term rehabilitation, family caregiver support services, and community wellness programs. The organization continues to evolve to meet the changing needs of families, offering a culturally attuned continuum of care that honors elders and uplifts future generations.
“Kin On’s 40th anniversary is more than a celebration of our past—it is a promise for the future,” said Ketty Hsieh, Kin On CEO. “We are building on a strong foundation to ensure that elders in our community are never alone, and that families have the support they need to provide care with dignity and compassion.”
The evening’s theme, “Honoring Elders with Compassionate Care,” reflected Kin On’s mission and enduring commitment to providing a community where every elder is valued, respected, and supported.
Kin On extends its gratitude to all who attended and supported the gala, including sponsors, donors, volunteers, and community partners.
