Race for Life to Benefit Kin On12/19/11
Race For Your Life is a human powered watercraft race series, consisting of four challenging distance (6-16 miles) race. One of the races is called The New Year’s Challenge, which will take place on Saturday, January 7th at 11am. Compete against outrigger canoes, surf skis, kayaks, standup paddle boards and many other human powered crafts. Witness some of the best paddlers the Northwest has to offer as they race from Gas Works Park, through the Montlake Cut, north to Magnuson Park and finally finishing at Sandpoint.
Along with providing an environment for competitive racing, the Race For Your Life organization is committed to supporting charities who strive to increase the quality of human life. This year, Race for Life has chosen Kin On (www.kinon.org) to be the recipient. Serving the community for over 26 years, Kin On’s mission is to support the elderly and adults by offering a comprehensive range of health, social and educational services sensitive to their cultural, linguistic and dietary needs. Kin On Health Care Center is recognized as a 5-Star nursing home by Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and has won numerous recognition and awards.
